Nepal is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, blessed with 8 of the world’s highest 14 mountains above 8000 meters including Mt. Everest and more than 1310 magnificent peaks over 6000 meters. Nepal is also very much well-known as a country of ancient history, diverse ethnic cultures and multi religions. About 80% of the total population follows the Hindu religion; about 10% Buddhist religion, about 4% Muslim and the rest of other religious groups live in different parts of the country.

 

Nepal offers UNESCO declared seven World Heritage sites in the three ancient cities of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur within the Kathmandu valley and three sites outside of the Valley. Pashupatinath temple (Hindu Shrine), Boudhnath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambunath Stupa (Monkey Temple). Patan Durbar Square and Bhakatapur Durbar Square are in the Valley. Here you explore a myriad of monuments, sculptures, artistic temples and magnificent artworks. Outside the Kathmandu Valley lies sacred place of Lumbini , being the birthplace of the Lord Buddha born in 623 B.C. Chitwan National Park and Sagarmatha National Park are listed as  Natural World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Chitwan National Park is full of dense forest and habitat of the more than 450 species of birds, Royal Bengal tiger, one horned Rhino, Gharial Crocodile, Asian elephant and sloth bear. Chitwan National park is very rich in flora and fauna

 

Nepal is also called the land of lakes as there are more than 200 lakes with a beautiful glacier origin. These lakes provide a stunning view with vivid shades of blue. The world’s highest freshwater system of lakes known as Goyko lakes in Everest region, Tilicho Lake in Manang, Rara Lake in Karnali, She-Phoksundo Lake in Dolpo, and Phewa Lake in Pokhara are worth visiting.
