Bhutan – Fair Step Trekking Nepal

Bhutan

About Bhutan

Bhutan, locally known as Druk Yul which means the mythical Land of Peaceful Dragon, is one of the most sought after travel destinations today for its rich and colourful cultural heritage and fabulous bio-diversity. Although the cultural boundaries in most parts of the world are slowly muddling up, Bhutan has successfully retained its own cultural richness in original condition.

Every aspect of Bhutanese culture is unique, extraordinary  and diverse, or  we can say – very special and exotic. Being a staunch Buddhist kingdom, the socio-cultural life, art, crafts and traditions to architecture, every aspect of Bhutan is greatly influenced by religion. The kingdom is well known for its natural beauty, forest conservation, gross national happiness, great culture and heritage. This is the reason many foreigners are very much keen to visit Bhutan to explore its cultural richness, to know about Buddhism and explore the wilderness.

As a small, land-locked kingdom in South Asia, located in the south of China (Tibet Autonomous Region), bordering the Indian states of Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, it is also bordered by Nepal and Bangladesh. The nation occupies an area of 38,394 km² making it somewhat smaller than Switzerland or about half the size of the US state of Indiana. Bhutan’s landscape is mostly mountainous from the Himalayas to lower-lying foothills to some fertile valleys with semi-tropical forest, savannah grassland and bamboo jungles.

Bhutan has many incredible places to explore like ancient monasteries, dzongs, totally unspoiled and stunning places along with interesting wildlife. Check out our Bhutan tour packages offering the best of hotels and inclusions designed to pamper you on your Bhutan holiday.

October to December is the best time to travel Bhutan as the sky is clear and festival time. January and February are too cold  to travel, but from  March  until April, the climate remains pleasant for travelling. If you plan for the Bhutan trip in late spring, you will be captivated by the beauty of the famous rhododendrons, blooming spectacularly throughout the valleys.
