Tour Details

The Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass trek is a challenging and adventurous trek that takes you through the spectacular Rolwaling Valley and over the high mountain pass. Here are some tour details for the Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass trek. The duration of the trek is typically around 18 to 20 days, including both the trekking and acclimatization days. The trek starts from the village of Charikot, and from there, you will trek through villages like Simigaon, Beding, Na, and Tso Rolpa Lake. The highlight of the trek is crossing the Tashi Lapcha Pass (5,755 meters) to reach the Khumbu region, where you can visit Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.

You will need the Sagarmatha National Park entry permit and a TIMS (Trekkers’ Information Management System) card for this trek. Additionally, a climbing permit may be required if you plan to climb any peaks in the region. During the trek, you will stay in teahouses or lodges available in the villages along the route. These accommodations provide basic facilities such as beds, blankets, and meals. However, the availability and facilities may vary as you reach higher altitudes. The Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass trek is considered a strenuous trek that involves long days of walking, steep ascents, and high-altitude challenges. Good physical fitness, prior trekking experience, and proper acclimatization are crucial for a successful completion of the trek.

Hiring a local guide and porter is highly recommended for this trek. They have local knowledge, can assist with navigation, and help carry your backpack, allowing you to focus on enjoying the trek. They also ensure your safety and provide valuable insights about the region. The best time to undertake the Rolwaling Tashi Lapcha Pass trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer stable weather, clear mountain views, and favorable trekking conditions. However, be prepared for colder temperatures at higher altitudes.

Safety is of paramount importance during this trek. Adequate acclimatization, proper trekking gear, and travel insurance are essential. It is also important to follow the advice of your guide, drink plenty of water, and be cautious of symptoms of altitude sickness.
