Tour Details

Nepal offers the most difficult and challenging treks in Nepal.  Manaslu- Tsum Valley-Narphu- Manang-Tilicho Lake trek is one of them and it lies in a remote in Nepal. You will cover around 36 days ascending and descending more challenging terrain. Trekking to this remote area begins from the trailhead in Arughat bazaar passing through lush subtropical terrain climbing along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River and reaching the highest point the Larkya La pass at 5,235m. You gently traverse through middle hills and finally emerge into the high, arid desert region which is actually considered a part of the Tibetan Plateau where people of Tibetan origin inhabit and follow the Tibetan Buddhism. During the trek, you will traverse through small settlements, get closer to Tibetan territory and catch sights of some Mani stone walls at the gateway to each village and occasionally Stupa. This trek is indeed strenuous while crossing over the Larkya La Pass. Every trekker requires excellent physical stamina and passion to do Manaslu Circuit -Tsum Valley Trek in the beginning. As you walk progressively to higher altitudes, the temperature drops and begins hiking in trees and then alpine grasses, and then snow and rock by the time you reach the Pass. You will find yourself absolutely in beautiful scenery surrounded by mountains.

In the second phase of the trek you will explore the least visited Narphu valley situated between the Annapurna and Manaslu regions. Here you will explore pristine valleys that feature a mix of true Himalayan nature and ancient Buddhist culture. The pre-historic, houses, Chorten, stone-paved pavements and structure date back to centuries and its secluded characteristics attract every trekker to this part of the world.  While trekking to Narphu valley, you will come across widespread pasture land, livestock, farming, verdant fields and mountains. After Narphu valley you will be heading to a beautiful Manang valley with the desert-like wild terrain and then Tilicho Lake, considered as the world’s highest lake located at 4,920 meters from sea level. Tilicho Lake is the main attraction of the trek. It is a glacial lake without trace of any aquatic life. While trekking, you will enjoy the clear views of Gangapurna, Chulu peak, Pisang peak, Annapurna I, II and III peaks from Manang. Crossing Mesokanta La pass is very difficult and possibly dangerous and sometimes rocks may fall. So, every trekking attempting to do this remote area trekking must be well prepared mentally and physically.

The best time to do Manaslu- Tsum Valley-Narphu- Manang-Tilicho Lake trek is between April-May-June and Sept-Oct-Nov. There are few basic teahouses available in this remote area however, full board camping trekking is highly recommended. Special permit for Tsum valley and Narphu along with Manaslu Conservation Area permit, is required for solo and group trekkers.
