Upper Mustang trek

The separate kingdom in hidden Trans-Himalayan valley behind the Annapurna is known as Upper Mustang. A traditional world trade route to Tibet has been open to travellers since 1992. Cold desert a lost kingdom, rich in ancient tradition, mythology, and huge barren areas are similar to Tibetan plateau. The landscape of Mustang is red fluted hills, cliffs, pinnacles in lower and upper Mustang has yellow and grey rolling hills. During the daytime Mustang region is mostly windy because of dry air. Rich in inhabitants of Tibetan heritage have built several Buddhist monuments, paintings, and walls; the Gompas are the most significant. 

Upper Mustang trek

Day 01: On your Arrival, Nepal Fair Step Trek’s represent will well- come to you with Garland/Khata and transfer to Hotel.

Day 02: City Sightseeing in Kathmandu
(Kathmandu Darbar square; historical place and visit living Goddess Kumari, Pashupatinath and Baudhhanath; famous world heritages sites Hindu temple and Buddha Stupa) :( B)

Day 03. Drive / Fly to Pokhara (800 m)
 Driving time : 7-8h, 205km, Hotel

Day 4:Fly to Jomsom –Trek to Kagbeni(2800 m).
Walking time: 3-4 h,↑ 250m,↓100m,(B,L,D)

Day 05:Trek Kagbani - Chaile (3050m).
Walking time : 6h,↑ 530m↓180m ( Overnight Camp)  

Day 06:  Trek Chele -Syanbochen (3820m).
Walking time : 6-7 h,↑1020,↓270 ,(Overnight camp)

Day 07: Trek Syangboche-Ghami (3520 m).
Walking time: 5 h,↑540m,↓810m( Overnight Camp)  

Day 08:Trek Ghami - Tsarang (3560 m).
Walking time: 5h,↑350m,↓400m( Overnight Camp)  

Day 09:TrekTsarang - Lo Mangtang (3800 m) 4-5 h,↑480m,↓210m( Overnight Camp)  

Day 10: Explore Lo-Manthang ( Overnight Camp)  

Day 11:Trek Lo-Manthang  -Yara(3550 m).
Walking time : 6h↑ 650m↓ 800m.(Overnight camp)

Day 12:Trek Yara –Dhechyang  Khola – Tangge(3240m)
Walking time : 7h,↑650m,↓850m    ( Overnight Camp)  

Day13:Trek Tanngge –Paha(3240m).
Walking time : 4-5h↑ 800m↓ 200m,(Overnight Camp )

Day 14.:Trek Paha – Chhusang(2980m).
Walking time : 5-6h,↑250m↓1300m( Overnight Camp)   

Day 15:Trek Chhusang –Gyu La(4070m) -Muktinath(3700 m).
Walking time : 6-7h,↑1200m,↓400m( Overnight Camp)   

Day 16. Trek Muktinath – Jomsom(2720m)
Walking time : 5-6h, ↑200m,↓1000m( Overnight Camp)   

Day 17:Fly to Pokhara - Kathmandu / Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

Day 18:  Leisure (If would like to shorter the trek you may depart this day) day in Kathmandu.

Day 19: Departures to international airport

(B=Breakfast, L= Lunch, D= Dinner)

To be able to submit a cost estimate, we need to know the number of persons in your group, the required hotel category, the favored mode of transportation (by flight, by local or private transport) and any alternations to your itinerary.

The costs include:

ü Hotels: (4/2) star standard hotel including breakfast (according to program in Kathmandu& other places)

ü Welcome and farewell dinner

ü Sightseeing in Kathmandu (Durbar square, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath)

ü Camping/ Lodge Trek’s cost according to program

ü Full board during the trek (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)

ü Government-licensed guide (English speaking or other foreign languages if requested)

ü Required numbers of porters (1 porter for 2 guests; 12 kg per guest in Tea house trek)

ü Sightseeing entry fees/national park /conservation/restricted area permit fees (monasteries, temples, Stupa entrance fees but not the donation.)

ü TIMS (Trekker’s information Management System) permits or peak climbing permit fees (according to your program)

ü Climbing Guide/Sherpa’s climbing charge

ü Group First Aid Kits

(We recommend bringing your personal first aid kit as well.)

ü  Camping equipment;

(Like tents, kitchen tents and other equipment)

ü Trekking bag for each guest.

ü Staff insurance

The costs   Exclude:

û  International airfare from and to your country

û  Nepal visa fee: USD $40

û  Travel & Health Insurance - Emergency Helicopter Rescue Insurance (Most recommended)

û  Any meals (lunch &dinner) in Kathmandu - $ 10 to 15 for per meal in tourist restaurant (except welcome and farewell dinner)

û  Any kinds of drinks (alcohol &non-alcoholic beverage) neither during the trek nor in Kathmandu

û  Tips for staff (not mandatory but expected)

û  Hot shower, recharging of batteries (available during the trek with extra cost or free on the spot)

û  The cost which is not mentioned above.
